amsterdam was feeling very Christmassy when i was there last week. only had time to pick up a few chocolatey treats before flying back home.
i’ve made the move from gospel oak to archway road, swapped hampstead heath for highgate wood.
two great things about my new area:
SOUVENIR – a little boutique shop that sells these wonderful velvet cushions in the shape of foxes and greyhounds. all hand sewn and all made from vintage materials – i am desperate for one for Christmas.
QUARTERS CAFE – perfect coffee and 2 mins walk away.

a few photos from my recent whirlwind trip to New York, one of my most treasured places on earth. the weather was gloriously sunny, and many wonderful things were packed into my short time there. highlights definitely including octopus at SUPPER, steak at RAOUL’S, ice skating in central park and concerts at Carnegie Hall. YES. can’t wait to go back SOON.
happy belated thanksgiving! Spotted this in a little bakery in orange county the day before thanksgiving – a turkey made from profiteroles. I would have bought it had it not been for my impending 9 hour flight home that evening. Even though I was back in London for thanksgiving we still celebrated with turkey meatballs and yams roasted with marshmallows in Hackney. So good. More pics and news from my American travels to follow.
all the essentials for the 9 hour flight tomorrow…
